Lead Software Engineer, Financial Markets

What you'll do

• Lead the design and development of low-latency, high-availability Python applications for live risk and PnL.
• Translate business needs from Rates traders into reliable technical solutions and production-ready software.
• Own the architecture and design of complex real-time systems to meet latency, throughput, and availability requirements.
• Design and implement secure, high-quality production code with a focus on correctness and operational stability.
• Build and improve monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks while participating in production incident management.
• Collaborate with DevOps partners to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and environment reliability.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and engineering best-practice standards.
• Identify and remediate systemic issues such as technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and data quality gaps.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years of applied experience coding in Java or Python to build production services and performance-sensitive applications.
• Financial markets background including Rates products, risk, PnL, market data, and trade lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability leading complex technical initiatives.
• Strong understanding of real-time/distributed system concepts like concurrency, messaging, streaming, caching, and failure modes.
• Experience delivering software in a large corporate environment with strong engineering standards for testing, code quality, security, and SDLC.
• Practical experience with CI/CD, application resiliency, secure engineering, production monitoring, and incident response.
• Proven ability to lead technical design discussions, mentor engineers, and partner with business stakeholders.
