The Senior Lead Software Engineer Securities Finance SVP joins the Securities Finance technology team to take end-to-end technical ownership of complex, high-volume financial applications. In this role, you will architect, build, and deliver enterprise-scale software solutions for critical securities and custody workflows. You will lead a team of engineers to design and implement new application capabilities while managing technical analysis of complex financial business processes. Your daily work involves utilizing Core Java, Java EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs within microservice patterns deployed via Docker and Kubernetes. You will also work with PL/SQL, Unix scripting, Kafka, MQ Series, and Oracle or MSSQL databases. The role requires managing technical risk and ensuring compliance within the securities finance domain, including custody and funds operations.

What you'll do

Architect and design end-to-end software solutions for high-volume securities finance applications.
Build and deliver new application capabilities using Core Java, Spring Boot, and microservice patterns.
Lead technical analysis of complex financial business processes to translate requirements into application designs.
Define and enforce engineering standards across the full development lifecycle including coding, testing, and production.
Mentor and develop engineers while allocating work to meet ambitious delivery goals.
Partner with business leaders to capture functional requirements and incorporate them into system designs.
Identify and manage technical and operational risks within delivery decisions to maintain system integrity.

What we're looking for

10 or more years of hands-on software engineering experience in financial services environments.
Deep proficiency in Core Java, Java EE, PL/SQL, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, and Unix scripting.
Practical experience with microservice architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and MQ Series.
Proficiency in Oracle and MSSQL relational databases, including complex SQL queries and data profiling.
Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Devin, or Claude.
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and communicate technical decisions to senior stakeholders.
Familiarity with regulatory data requirements, data governance, and compliance in financial services.
Master's degree in a relevant technical or quantitative discipline (preferred).
Deep knowledge of Custody, Funds, or Securities Finance (preferred).
