Lead Scrum Master
The Lead Scrum Master joins the Refining IT aligned Digital Product Delivery Services group to drive digital transformation across the refining organization. Serving as a servant leader and coach, this individual facilitates Agile ceremonies, manages complex project schedules, and removes impediments for multiple teams of teams. The role involves coordinating with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, and external vendors to manage dependencies during Program Increment planning while ensuring alignment with broader refining objectives. Key responsibilities include developing an Agile maturity roadmap, promoting continuous improvement, and managing risk through automated processes. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field and over seven years of experience. Required competencies include proficiency in Scrum and Kanban methodologies, SDLC knowledge, data analysis, conflict resolution, and the ability to facilitate large-scale planning events within a complex technical environment.
Facilitate Scrum and Kanban ceremonies to ensure teams remain aligned with project goals and delivery timelines.
Remove impediments and obstacles to ensure the team can deliver high-quality value consistently.
Coordinate across multiple Agile teams to manage dependencies and align on shared business objectives during Program Increment planning.
Partner with Product Owners to improve backlog health, conduct story mapping, and streamline dependency management.
Coach and mentor teams and stakeholders on Agile methodologies to increase organizational maturity and adoption.
Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and new procedures to proactively reduce project risks.
Track and report performance metrics to provide data-driven insights for continuous improvement and decision-making.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another computer-related field.
Seven or more years of relevant Scrum Master experience.
Proficiency in Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban for managing complex team environments.
Strong communication skills to express ideas clearly and foster constructive dialogue.
Experience in change management to lead teams through organizational transitions.
Ability to resolve conflicts and manage competing priorities among diverse stakeholders.
Expertise in risk management, data analysis, and metrics reporting to drive continuous improvement.
Proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and workflow optimization.
