TL;DR · Lead Product Manager, Remote Assistance

The Lead Product Manager Remote Assistance will lead the remote assistance product area, owning the end-to-end success of the human support layer for autonomous vehicle operations. This role involves defining when remote assistance is invoked, designing operator tooling, establishing escalation triggers, and creating resolution workflows for complex real-time systems. You will build a scalable platform supporting multiple autonomy stacks and vehicle platforms while managing backend services, data flows, and latency requirements. Key responsibilities include partnering with engineering, operations, and safety teams to translate technical complexity into product decisions. You must utilize skills in human-in-the-loop workflows, systems engineering, and incident analysis to ensure reliability in safety-critical environments. The work focuses on helping autonomy partners navigate ambiguity and recover gracefully during commercial deployments across various markets.

What you'll do

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for the remote assistance platform.
  • Define operator tooling, escalation triggers, decision boundaries, and resolution workflows.
  • Build a scalable platform that supports multiple partner integrations and regional requirements.
  • Define system interfaces, backend services, and reliability requirements with engineering teams.
  • Design operator workflows, staffing assumptions, and quality processes with operations teams.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate safety, intervention quality, response latency, and operator efficiency.
  • Define guardrails, escalation protocols, and incident review processes with safety and legal partners.
  • Drive launch readiness for new partners, features, and geographies before commercial deployment.

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated experience owning and delivering complex, technical products in autonomy, robotics, mobility, or other real-time operational systems.
  • Experience with human-in-the-loop, remote operations, dispatch, control center, or other workflows where real-time decision-making, latency, and reliability are critical.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous technical and operational problems into clear product requirements, roadmap decisions, and execution plans.
  • Experience working closely with engineering, operations, safety, and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience representing product direction with senior leaders and partners.
  • Ability to define success metrics, prioritize roadmaps, and drive execution across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working on autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other autonomy systems (preferred).
  • Direct experience building, launching, or managing remote assistance, teleoperation, or remote driving systems (preferred).
