Lead Principal Systems Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Implement security features like Secure Boot, Verified Boot, and SELinux on robotics platforms.
• Contribute to and extend open-source software including the Linux kernel, GRUB, and U-Boot.
• Collaborate with silicon vendors to manage firmware updates and establish new security mechanisms.
• Integrate system firmware with emerging hardware to ensure seamless bring-up and operability.
• Analyze high-impact hardware provisioning failures to develop systemic improvements for large-scale cloud fleets.
• Design software solutions, write foundational code for prototypes, and define technical standards.
• Lead the development of API versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies.
• Mentor engineers on systems integration, reliability, and production-grade firmware best practices.

What we're looking for

• Applicants must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Candidates should have 6 to 10+ years of experience in the field.
• Experience in operating systems development is required.
• Proficiency in C programming and kernel-level debugging is required.
• Several years of hands-on Unix/Linux kernel development experience are preferred.
• Knowledge of security technologies including TPM, Secure Boot, kernel signing, and encryption frameworks is required.
• In-depth knowledge of ARM, Intel, and AMD platforms and chipsets is required.
• Familiarity with Python and Bash scripting for development and automation tasks is required.
