JOB TITLE: Lead Principal Application Software Engineer- Forward Deployed Engineer
Oracle Customer Success Services is seeking a Senior Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to lead strategic AI and data transformation programs for large enterprise customers. You will architect, modernize, and operationalize enterprise-scale data platforms on the Oracle AI Data Platform, working directly with executive leaders to accelerate AI adoption and migrate legacy data estates. Your daily responsibilities include designing scalable data consolidation, integration, and governance architectures while leading migrations from Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, and AWS. You will utilize Apache Spark, Python, SQL, Scala, Java, Kafka, and Delta Lake to build reusable migration accelerators and production-ready Generative AI pipelines. This role solves complex technical problems involving Lakehouse architectures, real-time analytics, and SPARK performance tuning within a cloud data engineering context.
Lead the architecture and delivery of enterprise AI Data Platform transformations for large customers.
Design scalable data consolidation, integration, governance, and AI-ready architectures.
Execute migrations from Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, and AWS to the Oracle AI Data Platform.
Provide expert-level Apache Spark configuration, performance tuning, and cluster sizing.
Build reusable migration accelerators, reference architectures, and automation frameworks.
Drive AI/ML and Generative AI data preparation pipelines and feature engineering.
Influence the Oracle product roadmap through field experience and customer advocacy.
Mentor senior engineers and establish engineering excellence standards across the organization.
What we're looking for
Must have 10–12+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise data platforms.
Must have proven experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Principal Solution Architect, Consulting Engineer, or Professional Services technical leader.
Must possess expert knowledge of Oracle AI Data Platform or equivalent modern cloud data platforms.
Must have extensive experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Azure, AWS, Kafka, Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
Must have deep expertise in SPARK architecture, configuration, optimization, tuning, distributed systems, and large-scale performance engineering.
Must have demonstrated success migrating enterprise analytics platforms and refactoring Spark/ETL workloads from Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, and AWS.
Must have a strong understanding of DataOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, security, governance, metadata, lineage, and observability.
Must have outstanding executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
