Key responsibilities include designing assembly lines, establishing processes for exotic materials and thermal protection systems, and overseeing tooling and capital equipment procurement. The role requires expertise in aerospace or defense manufacturing, specifically involving high-performance propulsion, advanced composite structures, and complex hardware. You will serve as the technical authority on the shop floor to resolve engineering anomalies while scaling production of hypersonic vehicles designed to withstand extreme thermal and aerodynamic forces.

What you'll do

Lead the manufacturing execution strategy and manage production timelines for hypersonic programs.
Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) requirements during early development phases.
Design, commission, and scale physical work centers and assembly lines for hypersonic vehicles.
Establish manufacturing methods for exotic materials, composite structures, and thermal protection systems.
Manage the design, procurement, and qualification of custom tooling and automated capital equipment.
Resolve production bottlenecks and engineering anomalies on the shop floor to ensure continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

Must have a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM field.
Must have at least 8 years of experience in manufacturing or a related field.
Must be a U.S. Person to access export-controlled information and facilities.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Security clearance.
Must have experience as a technical anchor or project lead for complex aerospace, defense, or high-technology products.
Must demonstrate the ability to influence design engineering decisions regarding DFM and DFA principles.
Must have experience mentoring peer engineers and leading projects without formal authority.
Preferred experience includes hypersonic vehicles, scramjets, rocket propulsion, or thermal protection systems.
