Lead Manufacturing Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of manufacturing engineers across mechanical, electrical, and systems integration disciplines.
• Manage the transition of products from initial concept through prototype phases to full-scale production.
• Provide daily sustaining support by resolving real-time mechanical, electrical, and software issues on product lines.
• Drive design for manufacturing best practices in collaboration with cross-functional teams during the development process.
• Own technical documentation including MBOMs, work instructions, and requirements for large-scale hardware manufacturing.
• Facilitate make-versus-buy decisions and manage vendor relationships to ensure high-quality, on-time deliveries.
• Analyze production metrics to drive continuous improvement in cost reduction, quality, and capacity.
• Contribute to the mechanical and electrical design of hardware components including interconnects and board fabrication.

What we're looking for

• Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or a similar prototyping position.
• Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills with backing examples.
• Ability to creatively deliver hardware in a resource-constrained environment.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Experience building production organizations and leading large-scale change management initiatives (preferred).
• Harness and PCBA fabrication experience, including SMT processes (preferred).
• Experience with R/C or autonomous flight vehicles, software scripting, or NX/Teamcenter (preferred).
