The Lead IT Architect joins the CoverMyMeds AI Enablement team to define technology strategy and architectural direction across a Value Stream and its Agile Release Train. This role owns the architectural runway, ensuring teams have the patterns, technical enablers, and future-state designs needed to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. Key responsibilities include planning technology roadmaps, leading AI-assisted software delivery practices, and creating detailed artifacts like system context diagrams and architecture decision records. The position requires expertise in Microsoft Azure, GitHub, Jira, Lucidchart, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude. The architect must solve complex problems regarding agentic engineering, modernization, and technical debt while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC standards within a highly regulated healthcare technology environment.
Plan the architectural runway for an Agile Release Train by defining solution approaches, technical enablers, and future-state designs.
Develop and maintain technology roadmaps that balance scalability, security, technical debt reduction, and delivery velocity.
Lead the design of scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions using Microsoft Azure and cloud-native patterns.
Drive the adoption of AI-assisted software delivery and agentic engineering practices across the Value Stream.
Create detailed architecture artifacts including system context diagrams, integration diagrams, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
Represent the Value Stream in Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
Identify and mitigate architectural risks, capability gaps, and cross-team dependencies before they impact delivery.
Ensure all architectural designs comply with healthcare security, privacy, and regulatory requirements like HIPAA and HITRUST.

10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or related technology disciplines.
5+ years of experience in a Lead Architect, Principal Architect, Solution Architect, or equivalent technical-leadership role.
Experience owning architecture across multiple applications, products, or Agile engineering teams.
Experience establishing architectural roadmaps and technical direction within Agile, Scrum, or SAFe delivery environments.
Experience designing enterprise solutions using Microsoft Azure or a comparable cloud platform, including cloud-native or distributed architectures.
Experience with architecture governance and documentation, including architecture review processes, architecture decision records, and technical diagrams.
Experience applying DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, or related modern engineering practices to enterprise software delivery.
Experience designing systems subject to security, privacy, or regulatory requirements, including healthcare or other regulated data environments.
Experience introducing or supporting AI-assisted software engineering, engineering-productivity initiatives, or agentic engineering practices.
Experience supporting an Agile Release Train or Value Stream within a SAFe environment (preferred).
