Lead Infrastructure Engineer, MQ Series

What you'll do

• Operate and support IBM MQ environments across development, testing, and production environments.
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot technical solutions for infrastructure problems of moderate complexity.
• Implement reliability engineering practices to improve service health indicators and automated alerting.
• Execute disaster recovery planning and coordinate sustained resilience testing activities.
• Reduce operational toil through automation, scripted remediation, and self-service workflows.
• Maintain operational runbooks, standards, and controls for a geographically distributed operations model.
• Provide technical guidance to application teams regarding MQ connection patterns and security constraints.
• Participate in post-incident reviews to track corrective actions and improve measurable outcomes.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services.
• Deep knowledge of infrastructure engineering areas such as hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment, automation, or performance.
• Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages like Python.
• Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
• Experience operating middleware in enterprise production environments, specifically including IBM MQ administration and incident response.
• Working knowledge of Unix and/or Windows system administration, including file systems, certificate stores, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience executing processes within the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate across distributed teams and manage customer expectations.
