What you'll do

Design enterprise DNS architectures and standards for resilient name resolution across hybrid environments.
Engineer IPv6 addressing plans and network designs using 128-bit formats and architecture patterns.
Implement reverse DNS delegation for IPv6 using ip6.arpa zones and nibble-format models.
Execute IPv6 transition and mitigation strategies such as Dual-Stack, NAT64, and DNS64.
Operate core DNS services with a focus on high availability and consistent performance.
Troubleshoot complex DNS and connectivity issues using tools like dig and nslookup across A and AAAA paths.
Automate repeatable DNS and IPv6 operational tasks to improve consistency and reduce manual effort.
Utilize enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis, design documentation, and automation routines.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Advanced DNS core competencies including authoritative and recursive DNS, record types, and operational best practices.
IPv6 addressing and architecture fluency including 128-bit formats, subnetting, GUA, and ULA.
Knowledge of reverse DNS delegation for IPv6 using ip6.arpa zones and nibble-format models.
Hands-on experience with IPv6 transition and mitigation mechanisms such as Dual-Stack, NAT64, and DNS64.
Strong networking and diagnostics skills including TCP/IP layers and troubleshooting with tools like dig and nslookup.
Working knowledge of routing protocols that impact DNS reachability, specifically BGP and OSPFv3.
Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for infrastructure analysis while ensuring security and auditability.
Proficiency with logging, telemetry, and visualization tools such as Splunk, SevOne, ThousandEyes, and Grafana (preferred).
Strong presentation skills to explain DNS/IPv6 concepts and operational risk to stakeholders (preferred).
Experience building operational dashboards and service health indicators (preferred).
Ability to standardize complex network/DNS patterns into repeatable reference architectures (preferred).
