Required tools and languages include Linux (Red Hat), Python, Bash scripting, and Llama API. The role also utilizes enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and documentation while ensuring data security.

What you'll do

Translate business requirements into end-to-end system designs for internal cloud and PSI environments.
Redesign or replace components to meet performance, reliability, and cost targets while retiring legacy platforms.
Manage day-to-day engagement with OEM/ODM/JDM partners to ensure technical alignment and schedule adherence.
Act as a technical bridge between hardware design decisions and network, operating system, and application requirements.
Use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation while ensuring data security.
Implement reuse-first, AI-assisted practices in delivery and automation routines to identify issues and validate remediation options.
Manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to drive hardware development decisions.

What we're looking for

Mechanical or electrical engineering background with 5+ years of experience building and improving hardware products.
Strong experience partnering with OEM, ODM, and JDM manufacturers across design, build, and delivery.
Solid understanding of production rack environments including networking, compute hardware, power delivery, and cooling behavior.
Working knowledge of Open Compute and rack standards tied to heat rejection and voltage delivery.
Familiarity with PCIe, Redfish, and OpenBMC.
Hands-on Linux (Red Hat) server experience and proficiency in Python or Bash scripting.
Experience with Llama API and using enterprise-authorized AI tools for infrastructure analysis and design documentation.
Experience owning BOMs and managing day-to-day interfaces with hardware suppliers to align cross-functional stakeholders.
Cloud on top of physical server experience (preferred).
Building automation and certifying servers for internal cloud (preferred).
