TL;DR · Lead Engineer, Electronic Hardware

The Lead Engineer - Electronic Hardware joins the hardware team to support PCB-based RF and power electronics, including transformer and converter design, testing, and repair. The successful candidate will support and review PCB layouts, focusing on component placement, routing, and grounding. Daily responsibilities include designing power stages like inverters and rectifiers, executing test plans, and performing bench-level troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. The role requires conducting structured root cause analysis, such as fault trees, and preparing technical reports. Key skills include interpreting electrical schematics, RF block diagrams, and transformer drawings while applying industry and military standards. The work involves solving complex hardware reliability and performance issues within high-reliability electronics environments, specifically addressing RF matching, filtering, and EMC considerations on printed circuit boards.

What you'll do

  • Support and review PCB layouts for RF and power electronics, including component placement, routing, and grounding.
  • Design and analyze power stages, converters, inverters, and associated magnetics to meet thermal and efficiency requirements.
  • Review electrical schematics, fabrication drawings, and BOMs to improve manufacturability and reliability.
  • Execute test plans for board-level and system-level verification of RF and power electronics assemblies.
  • Perform bench-level troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers to diagnose hardware failures.
  • Conduct structured root cause analysis for recurring hardware issues and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Prepare technical reports documenting test results, failure investigations, and engineering change documentation.
  • Create and maintain test procedures and repair guides for RF and power electronics hardware.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) to access export-controlled information.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of electronics engineering experience in PCB-based RF or power electronics.
  • Alternatively, must have a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of electronics engineering experience in PCB-based RF or power electronics.
  • Must have hands-on experience troubleshooting and testing RF and power electronics circuits using lab equipment like oscilloscopes and network analyzers.
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, RF block diagrams, and transformer drawings.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with structured root cause analysis and technical report writing.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability electronics environments (preferred).
  • Experience with transformer design, SPICE-based simulation tools, or configuration management systems (preferred).
