You will leverage skills in Java, Python, or C++ on Linux-based systems, along with experience in Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. This role focuses on modernizing real-time national air traffic operations by applying AI-augmented software development to enhance system reliability and performance.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications using modern software engineering best practices.
Translate complex requirements from systems engineering and program teams into functional software solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
Integrate services with databases, messaging systems, and external APIs.
Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of mission-critical systems.
Implement automated testing strategies including unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end tests.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, refactoring, debugging, and test creation.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Hands-on experience building and supporting microservices-based systems.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or C++ on Linux-based systems.
Experience or exposure to AI/ML-enabled systems, automation, or intelligent platforms (preferred).
Experience working in Agile environments and understanding of APIs and distributed system concepts.
U.S. citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust investigation.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, containerization, and DevSecOps environments (preferred).
