Java Digital Software Engineering Group Manager

What you'll do

• Manage multiple engineering teams including performance evaluations, hiring, and talent development.
• Define and communicate technical roadmaps and architectural strategies for the department.
• Lead the architectural design of large-scale full-stack projects using Java, Spring Boot, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Oversee resource allocation, budget management, and project planning for multiple business lines.
• Resolve complex technical bottlenecks and ensure system scalability, security, and resilience.
• Drive the adoption of engineering best practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud-native patterns.
• Take accountability for the end-to-end delivery and operational health of all team services.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of software development experience with progression into managing multiple technical teams.
• Deep hands-on technical background in full-stack development using Java, Spring Boot, and modern frontend frameworks like Angular or React.
• Proven experience designing complex, distributed systems using microservices architecture, API design, and cloud-native patterns.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD principles.
• First-class leadership skills to manage technology teams, develop engineering talent, and negotiate technical strategy at a senior level.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality products in fast-paced, high-growth environments with shifting priorities.
