What you'll do

Build and modernize systems that support medical device review for a federal public health agency.
Develop production-ready solutions using modern architectures, frameworks, and agile practices.
Create responsive and accessible user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
Design and optimize databases using SQL with Oracle or PostgreSQL.
Develop migration strategies to transition legacy Java technologies to modern frameworks.
Provide production support and resolve technical issues for existing systems.
Deploy applications using containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes within CI/CD pipelines.
Evaluate emerging tools and recommend system improvements for long-term scalability.

What we're looking for

8+ years of experience in software development.
6+ years of experience with Java, including Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, or RESTful web services.
3+ years of experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as React.js, Vue, and Angular.js.
Experience with database design, SQL optimization (Oracle or PostgreSQL), and legacy Java technologies like J2EE, JSP, or Servlets.
Experience with containerization/cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD, Jenkins).
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.
Experience with Atlassian Suite, automated testing frameworks, stored procedures, or federal health agencies (preferred).
Bachelor's degree.
