What you'll do

Build and modernize systems that support medical device review for a federal public health agency.
Lead the design and delivery of modernization workstreams for legacy Java applications.
Set technical standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and production readiness.
Mentor developers and take ownership of code reviews and delivery accountability.
Manage the production support escalation path for critical system issues.
Evaluate emerging tools and techniques to recommend improvements for system scalability and architecture.
Develop and maintain high-quality software using Java, Spring Boot, and modern JavaScript frameworks.

What we're looking for

8+ years of experience in software development.
6+ years of experience with Java, including Spring Boot, Hibernate or JPA, and RESTful web services.
4+ years of experience leading engineers, including mentoring, code review ownership, and delivery accountability.
3+ years of experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as React.js, Vue, and Angular.js.
Experience leading modernization or migration of large legacy Java applications to modular services or modern frameworks.
Experience with database design (Oracle/PostgreSQL), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), cloud deployment (AWS/Azure), and DevOps tools.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.
Bachelor's degree.
