IT Leader, Data Science

What you'll do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of data scientists through clear expectations, feedback, and career guidance.
• Build trusted partnerships with business leaders to identify, frame, and prioritize data science opportunities.
• Own and prioritize the team’s portfolio by balancing enterprise needs, business value, and delivery risk.
• Establish disciplined practices for intake, planning, governance, and status reporting across the data science lifecycle.
• Represent the team to technical and non-technical audiences to communicate capabilities, priorities, and trade-offs.
• Ensure the team has the standards, tools, and expertise to apply modern MLOps and software engineering practices.
• Remove organizational barriers and support workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and capability development.
• Use stakeholder feedback and meaningful measures to improve delivery, adoption, and team effectiveness.

What we're looking for

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Relevant military experience at the E5 rank/Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher is required.
• A minimum of three years of people management experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives involving business and technology stakeholders is required.
• Ability to work legally in the United States is required.
• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, Business, Chemistry, or a related discipline (preferred).
• Experience managing high-skill technical, analytical, digital, or scientific teams is preferred.
• Working knowledge of data science solution lifecycles, software engineering, MLOps, model governance, and product delivery is preferred.
