As a Principal Data Scientist Lead within the Customer Service & Support organization, you will establish long-term visions and standards for experimentation, causal inference, and machine learning. You will perform high-stakes analyses where accurate causal identification is critical to strategic decisions while architecting scalable modeling frameworks adopted across multiple teams. This role involves advising executives on measurement strategies, mentoring senior data scientists, and championing methodological excellence in data storytelling. To succeed, you must possess deep statistical mastery in inference and experimental design alongside expert machine learning skills for production-grade deployment at scale. You will specifically work on evaluating LLMs and AI agents to define safety and reliability standards. Required technical proficiencies include advanced experience with Python or R, SQL, and visualization tools like matplotlib, seaborn, or plotly to communicate complex insights effectively.

What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field and 10+ years of technical support, consulting, or IT experience.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements including U.S. citizenship verification.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 15+ years of technical support, consulting, or IT experience (preferred).
Authority in causal inference to design novel identification strategies and adjudicate hard causal questions (preferred).
Deep statistical mastery including inference, uncertainty, experimental design, and modern statistical methods (preferred).
Expert ML skills in advanced modeling, validation, and production-grade deployment at scale (preferred).
Deep experience evaluating LLMs or AI agents regarding quality, safety, and reliability (preferred).
