Executive Director, Infrastructure Platform Experience Design

What you'll do

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of designers while ensuring high-quality outputs and consistent design practices across domains.
• Define and execute an experience strategy focused on adoption, self-service enablement, and reduced friction for infrastructure products.
• Lead qualitative and quantitative research to understand the workflows and constraints of infrastructure personas like SREs and network engineers.
• Analyze market patterns and competitor experiences to inform investment decisions and product differentiation.
• Create and operationalize service blueprints, journey maps, and workflow maps to capture end-to-end experience paths.
• Translate research insights into clear problem statements, opportunity sizing, and prioritized recommendations for product leadership.
• Partner with technical product managers and engineers to define experience requirements and ensure cohesive outcomes across all platform surfaces.
• Establish governance, rituals, and templates to scale customer-centered practices across the Infrastructure Platforms organization.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of experience in experience design, service design, UX research/strategy, or related fields in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience managing, coaching, and developing a team of designers.
• Ability to drive customer experience strategy using service design methods like blueprints, journey mapping, and workflow analysis.
• Capability in foundational research including study design, facilitation, synthesis, and storytelling to inform product direction.
• Technical fluency in infrastructure platforms and enterprise concepts such as networking, cloud, compute, storage, and APIs.
• Ability to partner with technical product managers and engineers to influence roadmaps through evidence and clarity.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills for executive-level storytelling and alignment.
• Experience supporting Infrastructure Technology products or platform experiences like self-service portals and provisioning workflows (preferred).
