Director, Platform Engineering

What you'll do

• Execute the strategic roadmap for platform engineering aligned with enterprise data, AI, and hybrid-cloud goals.
• Drive modernization of platform architecture, cloud-native adoption, and infrastructure automation.
• Establish engineering standards for scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency across all services.
• Serve as the primary point of engagement for internal customers, partners, and executive stakeholders.
• Manage incident governance, risk management, and remediation programs to ensure production readiness.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of managers and senior engineering leaders.
• Drive measurable improvements in developer experience, platform adoption, and operational performance metrics.

What we're looking for

• 10 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8 years with an Advanced Degree, or 3 years with a PhD.
• 12+ years of software, infrastructure, platform, or data platform experience (preferred).
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers and engineering teams (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business (preferred).
• Proven experience leading large-scale platform, infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise data engineering organizations (preferred).
• Strong background in distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, and operational excellence (preferred).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, distributed compute, storage systems, and reliability engineering (preferred).
