Information System Security Officer
The Information System Security Officer joins the Digital sector to manage the cybersecurity compliance and operational security of DoW classified information systems within a DCSA approved environment. Reporting to the Information System Security Manager, you will perform day-to-day oversight, including maintaining Authorization to Operate compliance, executing Risk Management Framework activities, and preparing for DCSA security reviews. You will conduct technical assessments using STIGs, SCAP, vulnerability scanning, and configuration reviews while coordinating remediation with engineering teams. The role involves managing Configuration Management requests, providing cybersecurity guidance to stakeholders, and supporting incident response and hardware sanitization. Key requirements include a DoD 8140/DCWF certification like Security+, knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, and experience with Windows or Linux systems. You will utilize tools such as Splunk, Trellix, Tenable/ACAS, and STIG Viewer to ensure continuous monitoring and security for classified information systems.
Perform routine cybersecurity compliance assessments and security audits of classified information systems to ensure adherence to NIST RMF and DCSA requirements.
Manage the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle by developing, reviewing, and maintaining authorization artifacts and the system Body of Evidence.
Conduct technical security assessments including STIGs, SCAP, vulnerability scanning, and configuration reviews for Windows and Linux systems.
Analyze security findings and vulnerabilities to coordinate remediation activities with system administrators and engineering teams.
Review Configuration Management requests to ensure hardware, software, and security-relevant changes are documented and assessed for impact.
Provide cybersecurity guidance and training to system owners, engineers, and program personnel regarding secure configurations and requirements.
Support security incident response activities including investigation, evidence preservation, containment, and reporting of incidents.
Manage the sanitization, declassification, and transfer of hardware and media in accordance with authorized security protocols.
What we're looking for
Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance and be eligible for a Top Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information systems.
Current DoD 8140/DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) certification such as Security+ or higher.
Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and implementation of security controls in regulated environments.
Experience performing system assessments, compliance auditing, vulnerability assessment, and security configuration management.
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and associated security configurations.
Ability to interpret and apply standards such as NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, and DCSA/DoW requirements.
Experience with eMASS, Splunk, Trellix, Tenable/ACAS, or other monitoring tools (preferred).
