The Senior Information System Security Officer joins the Cyber & Analytics Business Area within the National Security Sector. This role supports a large software development program encompassing software maintenance, IT support, systems integration, and network engineering. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies to detect and mitigate threats, protect critical data sets, and perform vulnerability assessments. Daily responsibilities include enforcing security policies, managing configuration for hardware and firmware, and maintaining records for workstations, routers, and firewalls. Key tasks involve managing Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts, performing security scans, and developing documentation for Certification & Accreditation. Required expertise includes knowledge of communication protocols, encryption techniques, and security tools. The role ensures the operational security posture of complex information processing systems across isolated, connected, and standalone environments.
Implement and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet requirements for processing multiple types of information.
Manage configuration for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
Analyze threats and develop methodologies for incident detection, reporting, and vulnerability remediation.
Maintain records for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, and other network components.
Develop and update system security plans and documentation for Certification & Accreditation.
Manage Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts by initiating responses, scans, and remediation.
Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms for the information system.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 12 years of relevant experience.
Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
At least 10 years of experience as an ISSO maintaining secure information system operations in isolated, connected, and standalone environments.
At least 5 years of experience using tools to support IAVA management.
At least 5 years of experience using tools to support the preparation, maintenance, and management of SSPs and other security documentation.
In-depth experience proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies (preferred).
DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level II or higher (preferred).
DoD 8570 compliance with IAM Level II or higher (preferred).
