Information Systems Security Officer(ISSO)
The Information Systems Security Officer joins the Cyber & Analytics Business Area to support critical national-security missions by maintaining the operational security posture of information systems and programs. Working alongside mission teams, engineers, and system administrators, the individual will implement security policies, conduct vulnerability and risk-assessment analyses, and manage configuration management for hardware, software, and firmware. Key responsibilities include developing System Security Plans, managing certification and accreditation packages in accordance with NIST RMF, and overseeing user authentication mechanisms. The role requires expertise in information assurance, communication protocols, encryption techniques, and security tools. Candidates must navigate complex requirements to ensure systems can securely process classified information while remaining compliant with ODNI and DoD policies. Technical proficiency includes experience with ServiceNow and managing various network components like routers, firewalls, and switches within a secure environment.
Implement and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies to maintain operational posture.
Develop and update security documentation including System Security Plans, Risk Assessment Reports, and C&A packages.
Perform vulnerability and risk-assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation activities.
Manage configuration management for security-relevant hardware, software, and firmware while evaluating the impact of system changes.
Support security-authorization activities in accordance with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms for information systems.
Maintain records for network components including workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, and switches.
Serve as the Approval Authority for assigned Information Systems as required by the program.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
4 years of direct experience as an ISSO may be substituted for the required degree.
Ten (10) years of experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Experience in at least two areas: current security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, or encryption techniques and tools.
DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I certification or higher.
Demonstrated experience with information-system security policies, standards, methodologies, documentation, and day-to-day security operations.
Experience assessing system changes for security impact and supporting authorization, certification, and accreditation activities.
