The Head of Indirect Strategic Supply Chain & Procurement is a Director leadership role responsible for architecting and executing the sourcing strategy and procurement operations across all indirect commodities. You will lead a high-performing team to build a resilient, scalable supply chain covering Enterprise Software, SaaS, IT Hardware, Cloud Infrastructure, Manufacturing CapEx, Professional Services, and Corporate MRO. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, negotiating complex master service agreements, and maturing Source-to-Pay workflows. You will utilize tools such as Coupa, Zip, NetSuite, and SAP to streamline procurement processes while ensuring compliance with defense standards like CMMC, FedRAMP, and ITAR. This role addresses the challenge of maintaining supply continuity against global market volatility while managing the non-production footprint to ensure capital efficiency and operational speed during rapid organizational scaling in the defense technology sector.
Architect and execute multi-year sourcing strategies for indirect categories including software, IT infrastructure, and manufacturing capital expenditures.
Build and lead a high-performing team of commodity managers and technical sourcing engineers across global sites.
Establish formal supplier relationship management programs and conduct quarterly business reviews with tier-1 partners.
Lead high-stakes negotiations for master service agreements, long-term supply agreements, and complex statements of work.
Partner with Finance and IT to mature source-to-pay workflows and automate contract lifecycle management processes.
Ensure all vendors comply with defense-specific security standards including CMMC, FedRAMP, and ITAR regulations.
Implement spend analytics and total cost of ownership models to eliminate redundant costs and optimize license utilization.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in indirect strategic sourcing, global commodity management, or supply chain leadership in high-growth environments.
5+ years of experience building, managing, and scaling procurement or supply chain teams.
Experience negotiating multi-million dollar enterprise software/SaaS agreements, large-scale CapEx projects, and complex professional services contracts.
Expertise in modern procurement systems (Coupa, Zip, Ariba), contract lifecycle management platforms, and spend analytics tools.
Ability to relocate to Costa Mesa if not already local.
Master’s degree, Juris Doctorate, or professional certifications like CPSM, CPM, or CIPS (preferred).
Experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or familiarity with regulatory frameworks like ITAR and FedRAMP (preferred).
