JOB TITLE: Head of Data Product & Governance, Managing Director
The Managing Director, Head of Data Product & Governance leads a global team within the Finance Data & AI Office to deliver certified, reusable data products for Treasury, Financial Risk, and Sustainability. This leader defines the finance data product strategy, advancing a One Data Foundation by centralizing common data and reducing legacy-platform reliance. Key responsibilities include embedding governance by design—managing Critical Data Elements, lineage, and data-quality rules—while translating complex accounting and regulatory requirements into scalable products. The role utilizes AI, automation, and agile methodologies to replace manual waterfall processes. Required competencies include deep knowledge of financial data models, BCBS 239, and process reengineering. The position solves the business problem of fragmented data sourcing by establishing a product operating model that ensures consistent, governed, and automated data delivery.
Define and execute the Finance data product strategy and roadmap for Treasury, Financial Risk, and Sustainability.
Advance the One Data Foundation by centralizing common data and reducing redundant transformations and legacy-platform reliance.
Embed governance by design into the data product lifecycle, including CDE identification, lineage, and data-quality rules.
Translate accounting, regulatory, and reporting requirements into scalable data products using agile and automated delivery methods.
Manage a global team across the U.S. and India to drive alignment and execution across organizational boundaries.
Modernize product delivery by implementing AI, automation, and emerging technologies to replace manual, waterfall processes.
Partner with technology and enterprise data teams to consolidate legacy platforms and align investments with enterprise architecture.
What we're looking for
Significant leadership experience in Finance, Treasury, data products, governance, or Finance transformation within a large financial-services organization.
Strong understanding of Finance and Treasury processes, including accounting, planning, balance-sheet management, and regulatory reporting.
Strong understanding of financial data models, including ledger structures, legal entities, products, customers, and key Finance dimensions.
Proven experience delivering enterprise or Finance data products for multiple processes and consumers.
Demonstrated command of governance, including CDEs, definitions, ownership, lineage, data-quality rules, metadata, controls, and certification.
Strong knowledge of control frameworks and BCBS 239 to translate regulatory expectations into sustainable execution.
Proven ability to use data and technology to redesign processes, strengthen controls, and replace manual waterfall delivery with agile, automated workflows.
Experience leading large, multidisciplinary global teams and influencing senior executives across organizational boundaries.
