Head of Competitive Intelligence

What you'll do

• Build and lead the competitive intelligence function across priority competitors and market opportunities.
• Manage the recurring competitive radar including taxonomy, source standards, and update cadences.
• Produce deep dives, feature-gap analyses, and opportunity assessments for specific product domains.
• Translate technical findings into roadmap recommendations and product differentiation hypotheses.
• Create GTM-ready materials such as battlecards, objection handling guides, and field enablement content.
• Maintain a central repository of competitor profiles, comparison frameworks, and evidence logs.
• Synthesize multi-channel signals from product, engineering, sales, and customer feedback into actionable insights.
• Lead a team of competitive intelligence analysts and engineers to execute research workflows.

What we're looking for

• You must have 8+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, technical product strategy, product management, or related enterprise software work.
• You must possess strong technical fluency in observability, cloud infrastructure, security, developer tooling, distributed systems, or enterprise SaaS platforms.
• You must be able to read and interpret technical documentation, changelogs, release notes, architecture diagrams, and public competitor materials.
• You must be able to distinguish credible technical differentiation from surface-level claims.
• You must have strong executive writing skills to produce concise memos, structured briefs, and leadership-ready recommendations.
• You must be able to influence cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success without direct authority.
• You must be comfortable building a competitive intelligence function from the ground up in an ambiguous environment.
• You must understand legal, ethical, and compliance considerations regarding competitive intelligence gathering.
