What you'll do

Design hardware for Cisco 8000 series routers to optimize quality and power efficiency using high-speed Serdes technology.
Manage the full hardware product lifecycle including architecture, detailed design, bring up, and debug.
Develop and collect schematics using Cadence/Allegro tools.
Guide the layout and routing phases of the hardware design process.
Write technical hardware specifications and develop comprehensive test plans.
Bring up hardware in coordination with ASIC teams to validate functionality.
Debug complex issues in the lab using oscilloscopes and other diagnostic analyzers.
Provide sustaining support and field failure analysis for products after release to manufacturing.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 8+ years of experience, Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of experience.
Experience with high speed design for Ethernet or PCIe.
Experience collaborating with Manufacturing, Software, Mechanical, or Signal Integrity teams.
Experience in Board Design using industry standard tools such as Concept, Allegro, or equivalent tools.
Experience with lab bring up and hardware design validation of products.
Experience writing hardware functional specifications (preferred).
Experience with High-Speed Network Interfaces (10G/25G/100G) (preferred).
Experience with control interfaces like PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2C; DDR4/DDR5 DIMMs; and programmable devices like FPGAs or CPLDs (preferred).
