As a Software Engineering Technical Leader - Hardware Diagnostic Engineer within the QUAD team, you will support the Common Hardware Group in developing hardware platforms for hyperscale network and enterprise data center switches based on Silicon One ASICs. You will develop diagnostic test suites for switches on Linux servers using embedded software skills to manage new hardware system bring-up. Your daily work involves collaborating with multi-functional teams, including ASIC and hardware teams, to resolve complex issues and develop board support packages for SONiC. You will also perform failure analysis to improve manufacturing yield. Key technical requirements include proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Linux environments, along with experience in device driver development and microcontrollers using I2C, PCIe, SPI, and MDIO. Additional expertise includes Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, PHY testing, and troubleshooting components like SSDs and NVRAM.

What you'll do

Develop diagnostic test suites for Cisco switches on Linux servers using embedded software skills.
Perform new hardware system bring-up and integration for high-scale network and data center switches.
Develop Board Support Packages (BSP) for ASIC bring-up and running SONiC.
Resolve complex hardware issues by collaborating with ASIC teams, hardware teams, vendors, and manufacturers.
Conduct failure analysis to support the manufacturing test team in improving product yield.
Optimize production processes to shorten testing time for manufactured components.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 8+ years of experience.
Master's degree in a related field with at least 6 years of professional experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience developing software using C/C++ and/or Python within a Linux environment.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware-level programming and device driver development.
Demonstrated expertise in Linux hardware bring-up and system integration.
Proven experience working with microcontrollers and embedded peripherals including I2C, PCIe, SPI, and MDIO.
Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP.
Experience with Networking ASICs, PHY testing, and troubleshooting hardware issues.
