Hardware System Board Design Engineer

What you'll do

• Own the design and validation of a server sub-system.
• Ensure all hardware designs meet specific functional specifications.
• Generate schematics and layouts for high-speed hardware board designs.
• Perform hardware validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
• Create functional specifications and technical documentation for products.
• Manage Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs) for server product development.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues throughout the product lifecycle from concept to production.

What we're looking for

• Must live within commuting distance of the Milpitas, CA office and commute to the lab 5 days per week.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 4+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of related experience.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 0+ years of related experience.
• Experience with highspeed hardware board designs and validation.
• Experience taking board designs from concept through production including schematics generation, layouts, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in hardware validation using lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and Spectrum Analyzers.
• Hands-on board design knowledge including tools such as Cadence Concept and Allegro.
• Experience with networking products design (preferred).
• Experience creating test scripts in Python (preferred).
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (preferred).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills (preferred).
