What you'll do

Design, develop, review, test, and improve software within complex existing systems.
Provide product support and quick triage for time-sensitive Agency trading systems.
Communicate directly with front-office users and provide clear updates on system fixes.
Discuss opportunities for technology improvements with product leads across the organization.
Manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and technical initiatives.
Utilize SQL and relational databases to support data-oriented systems.
Learn and apply new languages, technologies, and business workflows using AI coding tools.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 10 years of relevant experience.
Experience with at least two of the following: q/kdb, Java, Scala, C++, or Python.
Strong engineering fundamentals to design, develop, review, test, and improve software in complex systems.
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
Experience with q/kdb, real-time data, distributed systems, shell scripting, Agile delivery, or DevOps tooling (preferred).
Knowledge of Agency MBS products, especially TBA or specified pool trading (preferred).
Familiarity with Agency pass-through pricing, analytics, pool characteristics, or hedging workflows (preferred).
