Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Platforms Engineering, Enterprise Technology Services

What you'll do

• Translate ambiguous requirements from internal engineering teams into technical designs and production-ready software.
• Design, build, and ship Go backend services and React/TypeScript applications from implementation through deployment.
• Architect and develop REST and gRPC APIs, including data modeling, authentication, and authorization.
• Build AI-assisted capabilities using LLM APIs, tool calling, and agentic workflows with established quality controls.
• Design systems for hybrid environments spanning public cloud, private cloud, Kubernetes, virtual machines, and bare-metal infrastructure.
• Improve deployment automation, CI/CD pipelines, and application lifecycle workflows to simplify software delivery.
• Engineer reliability into services through observability, structured logging, metrics, tracing, and resilient design.
• Convert recurring customer challenges into reusable platform features and standardized integrations.

What we're looking for

• 2-8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and delivering production software.
• Strong backend development skills in Go, or in a comparable language such as Rust, C++, or Python.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, REST and gRPC APIs, distributed applications, and relational data modelling.
• Hands-on experience with relational and distributed SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, Aurora, or CockroachDB.
• Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, TLS, DNS, and practical load balancing experience.
• Experience with a major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or AliCloud across compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
• Working knowledge of Linux, including systemd, processes, filesystems, permissions, and command-line troubleshooting.
• Understanding of service-to-service authentication and transport security, including mTLS, PKI, OIDC, and RBAC.
• Familiarity with software delivery practices including source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and production deployments.
• Experience operating services in production, including observability with metrics, logs and traces, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on multi-team projects and the ability to work from loosely defined requirements.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to work directly with engineering customers.
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
• Experience building modern front-end applications with React and TypeScript (preferred).
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and deployment tools such as Helm, Kustomize, Terraform, or Ansible (preferred).
• Experience building or operating distributed systems, including control planes, job orchestration, or work queues (preferred).
• Experience integrating LLM APIs, developing AI evaluations, agentic workflows, or Model Context Protocol integrations (preferred).
