What you'll do

  • Lead multiple engineering teams to deliver scalable backend platforms, data services, and data products.
  • Manage and develop a team of engineering managers to ensure high-impact results and talent growth.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define product roadmaps and translate business priorities into technical plans.
  • Oversee the design and operation of APIs, pipelines, and distributed systems for reliability and performance.
  • Drive architectural decision-making to ensure all solutions align with enterprise standards and long-term goals.
  • Establish engineering processes for planning, estimation, dependency management, and release delivery.
  • Champion engineering excellence by promoting modern software practices, automated testing, and incident management.
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across all systems and products.

What we're looking for

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with depth in backend and data engineering domains like APIs and distributed systems.
  • 4+ years of engineering leadership experience managing engineering managers and leading multiple teams or functional areas.
  • Proven experience building and scaling high-performing engineering organizations through hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Experience developing production-grade applications using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Proficiency in cloud-native platforms (AWS), modern tooling (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes), and SQL/NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
  • Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into clear business decisions.
  • Experience with NestJS, FastAPI, Kafka, Fivetran, dbt, Airflow, Datadog, or PagerDuty (preferred); experience in regulated environments (preferred).
