Executive Director, Digital Engineering

What you'll do

• Lead the strategic vision, development, and execution of the digital health roadmap.
• Manage engineering delivery by overseeing sprint planning, tracking velocity, and ensuring release readiness across squads.
• Enforce engineering quality standards including code reviews, testing coverage, CI/CD hygiene, and security compliance.
• Manage a hybrid team of internal software engineers and external vendor partners while providing technical mentorship.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance for frontend, backend services, APIs, and complex data integrations.
• Manage technical debt by identifying bottlenecks and prioritizing remediation efforts within the development cycle.
• Ensure all products meet strict healthcare compliance standards and PHI safeguards.
• Partner with product managers and designers to refine requirements and communicate risks or trade-offs clearly.

What we're looking for

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
• Proven track record of delivering full-stack digital products at scale.
• Strong full-stack technical foundation across frontend, backend, and data integration layers.
• Experience leading large-scale, globally distributed teams and managing production operations.
• Technical expertise in triaging and solving complex challenges across various technology stacks and vendor platforms.
• Experience with iterative delivery, cloud-native architectures, or health data interoperability standards like FHIR and HL7.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
