The Engineering Product Manager joins the Observability Center of Excellence and Developer Experience team to lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for internal incident management and engineering velocity. This role involves establishing scalable observability practices, defining golden paths, and improving developer experience through standardized tools and measurable outcomes. You will manage cross-functional collaboration between engineering, SRE, design, and marketing teams to resolve operational blockers and improve detection of performance issues. The position requires expertise in complex SaaS, platform, or cloud products, specifically involving infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring, or digital experience monitoring. Key technical competencies include Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and AI-assisted development workflows. You will solve critical problems regarding reliability and operational excellence by translating internal telemetry and incident data into product improvements and customer-facing artifacts within a large-scale production environment.
Define and own the multi-quarter strategy, roadmap, and operating model for the Observability Center of Excellence.
Establish Developer Experience goals by defining principles, golden paths, and success measures to reduce friction and improve velocity.
Prioritize complex trade-offs across multiple products while aligning investments with measurable improvements in performance and incident response.
Partner with engineering and SRE teams to identify monitoring gaps and remove operational blockers for detection and resolution.
Translate internal technical learnings into customer-facing artifacts and best practices for sales and marketing teams.
Establish feedback loops that convert operational data and incident findings into product improvements and reusable guidance.
Conduct market and user validation to identify product gaps and new opportunities within the observability portfolio.
Evangelize the Observability CoE internally to build a community of practice for internal product adoption.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of experience, Master's plus 8 years, or PhD plus 5 years of related experience.
Product management experience for complex SaaS, platform, developer, cloud, or observability products.
Hands-on experience with digital experience monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, or application performance monitoring.
Experience using data, telemetry, and customer insights to shape product strategy and measurable outcomes.
Experience leading cross-functional teams through ambiguous, technically complex decisions.
Experience establishing or leading an observability, reliability, developer productivity, or operational-excellence center of excellence (preferred).
Close working experience with teams responsible for performance/availability incident management, SRE, reliability engineering, or production operations (preferred).
Knowledge of software development and cloud deployment tools like CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containers, Kubernetes, and public-cloud platforms (preferred).
