As an Engineer - IoT Platform, you will join the IoT Platform Team to develop and manage a scalable foundation for thousands of connected devices. You will build self-service platform constructs, develop robust software components, and manage technical architecture to support critical capabilities like RFID-based inventory visibility, refrigerator monitoring, and team member safety. Your daily work involves solving complex engineering problems, performing code reviews, and ensuring operational excellence through high observability and mature CI/CD pipelines. You will utilize a diverse technology stack including Micronaut, Kotlin, Java, Python, Golang, Kafka, and relational or NoSQL databases like Postgres, MariaDB, Mongo, and Redis. Additionally, you will work with orchestration workflow engines like Temporal and Camunda Core to abstract device management and network complexities across various facilities.

What we're looking for
A 4-year degree or equivalent experience is required.
At least 1+ years of software development experience is required.
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript is required.
Foundational understanding of software engineering practices including data structures, debugging, testing, version control, and code reviews is required.
Familiarity with cloud, platform, or distributed systems concepts such as APIs, containers, Kubernetes, networking, storage, messaging, observability, or service reliability is required.
Ability to learn new technologies, tools, and domains quickly to solve engineering problems with guidance is required.
Must be able to perform work both onsite at the Target HQ MN location and virtually as a Hybrid/Flex arrangement.
Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location.
