Lead Engineer – Platform AI – Cloud and Compute (full stack) serves as a technical anchor for the Platform AI team within the Cloud & Compute organization. In this role, you will design and own application architecture to create product experiences that make infrastructure easier to understand, safer to change, and more transparent to operate. You will build end-to-end solutions including user interfaces, backend services, APIs, and agentic systems to solve complex infrastructure challenges. The work involves embedding trusted AI into developer workflows to automate routine tasks and connect fragmented tools. Required skills include proficiency in Java, Go, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Kotlin, alongside experience with Kubernetes, containers, Kafka, and observability. You will navigate technical trade-offs regarding scalability, security, and performance while developing features like action centers within developer portals to improve deployment and production workflows.

What we're looking for
A 4-year degree or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of software development experience with at least one full cycle implementation.
Experience leading at least one full-cycle implementation of a product, platform capability, infrastructure service, or major technical initiative is required.
Deep expertise in designing, building, and operating highly scalable, reliable, secure, and performant distributed systems is required.
Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Kotlin, or similar is required.
Broad experience in cloud-native or platform engineering domains like Kubernetes, containers, Kafka, observability, SRE, or platform AI is required.
Ability to define technical strategy and make sound engineering tradeoffs across performance, availability, scalability, security, and cost is required.
Must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with project teams, partners, and stakeholders.
