Embedded Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop safety- and security-critical embedded software for new Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Lead high-level and detailed design for controller features and subsystems across multiple teams.
• Build software systems, libraries, and frameworks to serve as foundational building blocks for all products.
• Design and implement test plans to meet product requirements and promote automated test engineering practices.
• Use modern continuous integration tools and promote engineering practice improvements across the global organization.
• Monitor and improve the health, predictability, and velocity of the agile team and release train.
• Mentor less experienced personnel and encourage knowledge sharing within the development community.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Minimum of 3 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated professional development in software design and development (preferred).
• Knowledge of object-oriented analysis, design, and programming techniques, especially in C++ (preferred).
• Experience working with real-time embedded development environments (preferred).
• Experience developing software to meet safety and security standards such as IEC 61508 or IEC 62443 (preferred).
• Experience developing automated tests and tools in a high-level language such as Python (preferred).
• Advanced courses or degree in engineering, computer science, or controls (preferred).
