Embedded Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop safety- and security-critical embedded software for new Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Work across diverse hardware and software environments, including custom System on Chip architectures and real-time operating systems.
• Utilize modern continuous integration tools and promote the improvement of engineering practices across the global organization.
• Lead high-level and detailed design of controller features while coordinating with architects, marketing, and management.
• Build foundational software systems, libraries, and frameworks for use by other developers.
• Collaborate with test personnel to construct testable requirements and implement automated test plans.
• Mentor less experienced personnel and promote knowledge sharing within the development community.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Minimum of 3 years of software engineering experience with professional development in software design and development.
• Proficiency in object-oriented analysis, design, and programming techniques, especially in C++.
• Experience working with real-time embedded development environments and low-level embedded software like device drivers.
• Experience developing software to meet safety and security standards such as IEC 61508 or IEC 62443.
• Experience developing automated tests and tools in high-level languages like Python.
• Knowledge of industrial protocols (CIP), communication technologies (Ethernet, USB, PCI Express), and Intel/ARM architectures.
