Electrical Engineer, Thunder Payload Integration

What you'll do

• Design the payload electrical architecture including power delivery, data, and control wiring from aircraft bus to mission payloads.
• Design firing circuits and payload control electronics featuring arming/safing logic and ground-to-aircraft handoff protocols.
• Define and implement the electrical interface for the mission/vehicle management system to control command, status, and safety signals.
• Design harness routing through articulated deployment mechanisms ensuring connectivity across all movement positions.
• Develop ground support equipment including bench simulators and continuity test sets to support integration and range operations.
• Perform electromagnetic compatibility analysis for firing-circuit signals in hybrid-electric airframe environments.
• Conduct lab verification of the payload electrical chain through bench testing before aircraft integration.
• Support on-aircraft integration and ground firing verification at range-cleared facilities.

What we're looking for

• 3–6 years of experience in aerospace or defense electrical engineering.
• Experience with payload or weapons electrical systems.
• Expertise in firing circuit design including EED circuits, arming/safing logic, and safety analysis.
• Experience designing payload bus architecture for power, data, and control from aircraft buses.
• Experience in aerospace harness design, specifically through dynamic or articulated environments.
• Experience designing ground support equipment (GSE) for payload integration.
• Ability to perform EMC analysis for safety-critical circuits including HERO/HERP/HERF awareness.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
