The Electrical Distribution Engineer is responsible for the commissioning, startup, and qualification of new power-distribution assets while ensuring the reliability and safety of existing infrastructure within an industrial facility. Lead the pre-commissioning, functional testing, and energization of medium- and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, and motor-control equipment.
Verify that protection schemes including relays, circuit breakers, and electronic trip units operate according to design intent and industry standards.
Conduct safety verifications such as lock-out/tag-out, arc-flash analysis, and grounding checks before applying power.
Produce commissioning reports, as-built drawings, punch-list items, and final close-out documentation for new assets.
Integrate newly commissioned equipment with SCADA/EMS platforms to validate telemetry, alarms, and remote control functions.
Perform fault diagnosis and corrective actions on both newly installed and legacy electrical infrastructure.
Track deficiencies and manage corrective action plans through the project management system.
What we're looking for
Must have a 4-year degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
Minimum of 4 years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
Professional Engineering (PE) license recognized by the State of Texas is preferred.
Must possess working knowledge of IBC, IFC, and other codes for industrial power distribution systems.
Must have detailed knowledge of industrial power distribution systems design, maintenance, and monitoring equipment.
Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to manage assets and schedules.
Experience with Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and simple script creation.
Must be authorized to access information subject to U.S. export control laws.
