As an Electrical Design & Verification Engineer (DVE), Leo Optical ISL Development, you will join the Avionics team to perform design verification for high-performance communication systems. You will be responsible for developing Python scripts to test proprietary hardware, ensuring these scripts interact with standard lab equipment to execute automated functional checkout tests and generate comprehensive reports. Your daily work involves performing data analysis against pass/fail criteria, conducting test readiness reviews, and maintaining requirements traceability while solving integration problems in real time. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering fundamentals, high-speed signal characterization, and the testing of components like switching power supplies, sensors, and FPGAs. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including PCBA designers and firmware developers to validate avionics systems within a complex aerospace hardware environment focused on satellite communication infrastructure.
Develop Python scripts to automate functional checkout tests for proprietary hardware.
Implement algorithms to analyze test data against predefined pass/fail criteria.
Generate comprehensive test reports summarizing results and providing insights into hardware performance.
Conduct test readiness reviews and align with stakeholders on data review activities.
Maintain requirements traceability throughout the testing process.
Solve integration and test problems in real time during the verification process.
Define system test requirements to influence overall test strategy.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Experience with EE and test fundamentals.
3+ years of experience in board level design verification for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products; OR 3+ years of experience building test fixtures and complex test systems including integrating test software.
3+ years of experience developing requirements, plans, and procedures for product design verification.
3+ years of experience in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
3+ years of experience with design or test of switching power supplies, electric motors, sensors, and high-speed electrical signal characterization.
3+ years of experience in design verification of high-speed interfaces, signal integrity, and protocol compliance.
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum for export control purposes.
