The ideal candidate possesses technical expertise in laboratory instrumentation, robotics platforms such as Thermo Fisher or Hamilton, and proficiency with LIMS and Microsoft Office tools. This position solves critical operational challenges by ensuring infrastructure readiness, safety compliance, and workflow standardization to support the development of life-changing scientific innovations within a complex research environment.

What you'll do

  • Manage the inventory, tracking, and utilization of laboratory equipment and shared resources like cold storage.
  • Coordinate equipment scheduling, user access, and reservation systems to maximize availability and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of laboratory assets including procurement, installation, qualification, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service agreements, and maintenance contracts to minimize downtime and control costs.
  • Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets while overseeing inventory planning for consumables and reagents.
  • Collaborate with internal departments like Facilities, IT, and EHS to maintain infrastructure and ensure safety compliance.
  • Establish operational metrics and implement processes to improve reproducibility, data integrity, and equipment uptime.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and records in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field and at least 5 years of experience are required.
  • A Master's degree in a related scientific field and at least 3 years of experience are required.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience supporting laboratory operations in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or high-throughput research environments.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, equipment maintenance practices, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data reporting tools.
  • Experience with automated assay development or high-throughput screening laboratories (preferred).
  • Knowledge of laboratory facilities management, infrastructure planning, and expansion projects (preferred).
  • Familiarity with lean operations, process improvement methodologies, and operational excellence practices (preferred).
