As a Drone Mission Solutions Engineer on the Tactical Recon & Strike team, you will drive the development, integration, and operation of small aerial drones for military applications. You will serve as a pilot, engineer, and operations specialist to solve complex problems through rapid prototyping, testing, and iterative feedback. Your daily work involves leading technical execution from initial design to first successful testing, developing surrogate aircraft to accelerate algorithm testing, and building systems that support expeditionary operations and modular sensor expansion. The role requires expertise in Ardupilot, PX4, RC systems, and 3D printing or soldering for hardware assembly. You must possess a deep understanding of aerodynamics, IMUs, and control actuation servos while performing data analysis to validate new algorithms and subsystems in conditions that mirror the evolving battlefield.

What you'll do

Lead technical execution from initial design through prototyping and first successful testing for new drone products.
Develop and manage surrogate aircraft to accelerate the testing of algorithms in live flight environments.
Execute rapid prototyping and validation of new algorithms and subsystems under representative conditions.
Conduct rigorous, regimented testing of autonomous systems to ensure safety and performance during fast-paced development.
Resolve critical engineering issues through root cause analysis and by unblocking functional teams.
Develop systems that support expeditionary operations, intuitive setup for warfighters, and modular sensor expansion.
Support remote troubleshooting and operation of deployed systems in the field.
Prepare mission cards and plan flight missions to meet specific engineering and program requirements.

What we're looking for

Experience with Ardupilot and PX4 systems.
Experience with RC systems.
Must be a Part 107 operator.
Basic understanding of aerodynamics, IMUs, and control actuation servos.
Hands-on experience in 3D printing, soldering, and component assembly for complex robotic systems.
Experience with data analysis, rapid prototyping, and early-stage customer deployment.
Ability to engage technically with mechanical, electrical, firmware, sensor, and robotics software leads.
Desire to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret security clearance.
