Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Conceptualize system architecture for upgrades and enhancements to existing vehicle systems.
• Perform conceptual designs of small drones including sizing, performance analysis, and initial prototyping.
• Develop layout plans and interface specifications for new UAV products and platforms.
• Manage tactical engineering efforts by coordinating between different engineering and test disciplines.
• Draft and develop test plans for critical subsystems and support vehicle-level acceptance testing.
• Create interface controls for partners to integrate hardware, software, and electrical payloads with UAVs.
• Analyze vehicle data to identify performance trends and develop predictive failure models.
• Conduct hands-on build, benchtop testing, and field testing of new vehicle systems.

What we're looking for

• Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• 7-10 years of industry experience including systems engineering.
• Experience in hands-on build and prototyping of complex robotic or aircraft systems.
• Knowledge of electronics troubleshooting and ability to use basic test equipment.
• Familiarity with mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software development, and control theory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required for test planning and execution.
• Preferred experience in design engineering, software engineering, or flight testing.
