TL;DR · Director, Tech Deployment

The Director, Tech Deployment joins the Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations team to lead the strategic planning and end-to-end execution of restaurant, network, and Edge infrastructure rollouts across global markets. This leader manages complex deployment workstreams, orchestrates master wave schedules, and establishes standard operating procedures to ensure predictable time-to-value and minimal store disruption. Key responsibilities include overseeing vendor governance, managing third-party deployment partners, and leading a high-performing team of deployment managers and analysts. The role requires expertise in large-scale IT infrastructure, distributed network deployments, and edge computing. Candidates must navigate technical requirements including Google Cloud, containerized edge workloads, SD-WAN, and zero-touch provisioning. This position solves the business challenge of modernizing restaurant infrastructure to deliver high-performance, low-latency compute directly into global restaurant locations.

What you'll do

  • Lead the strategic planning and end-to-end execution of global restaurant, network, and Edge infrastructure rollouts.
  • Establish standard operating procedures, deployment playbooks, and readiness criteria to ensure repeatable and predictable installations.
  • Oversee market readiness, installation validation, and cutover monitoring while tracking KPIs for deployment velocity and stability.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between global technology leadership, regional market leads, and restaurant operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships, capacity planning, and third-party partner performance to ensure adherence to budgets and SLAs.
  • Establish escalation frameworks to rapidly diagnose and remediate systemic deployment defects or field failures.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of deployment managers, technical project leads, and deployment analysts.
  • Present executive-level deployment dashboards, risks, and maturity milestones to senior leadership.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Operations Management, or related field (or commensurate practical experience).
  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience in large-scale IT infrastructure, edge computing, distributed network deployments, or enterprise systems rollout.
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience leading high-performing technical teams and external partner/supplier workforces.
  • Proven history of orchestrating multi-site enterprise rollouts across hundreds or thousands of distributed physical endpoints.
  • Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar vendor contracts, RFPs, SOWs, and third-party delivery partners.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the capability to lead crucial conversations and present to VP/SVP levels.
  • Strong practical grounding in governance frameworks, program governance, and structured deployment management.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an MBA (preferred).
