JOB TITLE: Director, Software Engineering (UI) The Director, Software Engineering (UI) joins the Asset Management Technology Foundations organization to lead the engineering strategy, execution, and evolution of the Integrated Experience Platform. This leader manages people and technical craftsmanship, overseeing integrated web and desktop experience platforms, design systems, and shared component libraries. You will build and maintain core UI frameworks, ensuring high standards for reliability, security, and accessibility. Key responsibilities include mentoring engineers, driving agile delivery, and managing complex technical trade-offs. Required expertise includes Angular, TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs. You will solve problems related to desktop interoperability using FDC3, cloud-native architectures, and Kubernetes. Additionally, you will integrate AI-enabled capabilities like contextual intelligence and workflow automation into interoperability platforms to enhance real-time decisioning and user productivity across applications.

What you'll do

Define and execute the engineering strategy for integrated web and desktop experience platforms.
Manage the design systems, shared component libraries, and core UI frameworks across the organization.
Lead hiring, mentoring, performance management, and technical development for engineering teams.
Set high standards for code quality, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
Partner with architecture, UX, and product leaders to align on platform strategy and technical direction.
Guide teams through complex technical trade-offs, design reviews, and platform evolution.
Drive the adoption of cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, and AI-enabled capabilities.
Ensure platform reliability, security, performance, and accessibility across all enterprise applications.

What we're looking for

Proven experience leading enterprise integrated experience platforms, owning strategy and execution for web and desktop UI foundations.
Demonstrated ownership of design systems and shared UI component libraries, including governance and long-term evolution.
Deep background in modern UI and desktop experience architecture, including scaling component-driven micro-frontend platforms.
Practical experience with FDC3 and desktop interoperability platforms, including context sharing and cross-application integration.
Experience integrating UI and interop platforms with backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST, OpenAPI, and OAuth2/JWT.
Ability to design AI-enhanced interoperability workflows, such as intelligent context propagation and AI-driven intent resolution.
Strong hands-on understanding of Angular, TypeScript, and component-driven UI development, including build, testing, and performance optimization.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (preferred).
