The Director, Software Engineering, Kiosk and Restaurant Platform joins the Restaurant Technology team to lead a group of twenty-eight employees and external resources. This leadership role focuses on establishing engineering excellence and delivering new capabilities for the current Kiosk application while maintaining a stable platform to run POS and Kiosk applications. The successful candidate will drive technical strategy, design, and development while enforcing quality standards, modularity, and security compliance across all products. Key responsibilities include managing product milestones, budgets, and ROI while collaborating with Product Management, Solution Architecture, Data & Analytics, and Security teams. This role addresses the complex challenge of providing reliable restaurant technology in a global ecosystem. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in software engineering, architectural design, agile development, and large-scale change programs within a complex, matrixed organization to solve critical operational problems.
Drive the technical strategy, design, and development of the Kiosk application and platform foundation.
Lead a team of 28 employees and external vendors to deliver engineering activities for the Kiosk application.
Oversee architectural discussions and ensure high standards for both internal resources and third-party vendors.
Enforce engineering best practices, modularity, and quality standards for all new feature enhancements.
Manage security compliance, data integrity, and standard protocols for all in-scope products and platforms.
Manage the product and platform milestones, budget, and associated return on investment (ROI).
Act as the primary technical interface between the engineering organization and other enterprise functions like restaurant operations.
What we're looking for
At least 10 years of experience in hands-on technical roles with a background in software engineering, architectural design, and application development.
At least 7 years of experience working in an Agile software development environment and leading large software engineering teams.
Experience partnering with stakeholders within a complex, global matrixed organization.
Experience leading large-scale global change programs impacting people, process, and technology.
Strong people management and development experience.
Understanding of restaurant applications and the operational requirements of restaurant technology.
Experience managing P&L for a department and developing financial forecasts.
Ability to communicate effectively across multiple business areas including marketing, sales, finance, operations, and technology.
