JOB TITLE: Director, Program Test & Evaluation Engineering - Advanced Effects
The Director of Program Test & Evaluation Engineering - Advanced Effects leads a diverse team of test engineers and maintenance personnel to support multiple UAS and weapon systems. This role involves developing unique test strategies for integration, planning, and operations while managing technical efforts for flight test engineers and control room personnel. Key responsibilities include overseeing system-level development testing, managing resource constraints, and interfacing with program leadership and certifying agencies like the FAA. The position requires expertise in vehicle, payload, and ground safety equipment, as well as knowledge of military standards such as MIL-STD-8591 and MIL-STD-1553. Candidates must navigate complex developmental aircraft and payload integration, including surrogate booster motor integration and weapons airworthiness certification, to solve hard problems in the defense technology sector.
Lead a diverse team of test engineers and maintenance personnel across multiple UAS and weapon systems.
Develop and execute unique T&E strategies for system integration, planning, and operations.
Manage technical efforts for flight test engineers and control room personnel during test event execution.
Oversee all test and integration efforts at the system and subsystem levels to track project progress.
Facilitate technical discussions during engineering reviews and support the Growth and Proposal team during contract shaping.
Plan, execute, and report on lab, ground, and flight tests while overseeing data collection and analysis.
Coordinate with FAA and military agencies to establish test range requirements and conduct testing on government ranges.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent engineering experience.
12+ years of experience as a test conductor/director for developmental aircraft and payload integration, or 10+ years as a lead test conductor/test director for developmental weapon or missile systems.
Experience with system engineering or DoD program processes including EVM, MIL-STD-881, and various MIL-STDs and AS standards.
Experience integrating and conducting tests with ground or ship-based launch systems, suspension, arming, and release equipment.
Experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD) and knowledge of DCMA INST 8210, MIL-STD-516, and National Airspace System rules.
Strong leadership skills with previous experience in leading and managing individuals or teams.
Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance.
Master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (preferred).
