As the Director of Software Engineering - Head of Platform and Software Engineering, Branch Technology, you will lead a senior engineering team within the Corporate Sector - Employee Platforms group. You are responsible for the strategy and delivery of software-defined platforms underpinning critical Retail Branch systems, specifically the Software Defined Branch platform and the next-generation Retail Event Management system. Your daily work involves driving innovation through AI-first engineering, implementing agentic AI-enabled practices, and managing SDLC automation to improve speed and quality. You will oversee technical processes, resource decisions, and governance for coding standards while ensuring security and resiliency at scale. The role requires expertise in cloud native technologies, software development life cycle toolchains, and building AI-native systems. You will solve complex problems regarding platform modernization and the management of large-scale infrastructure within a highly regulated environment.

What you'll do

Lead the strategy and development of the Software Defined Branch (SDB) platform.
Build the next-generation Retail Event Management system aligned with the NextGen Workspace strategy.
Implement agentic AI-enabled engineering practices to automate SDLC workflows and improve delivery speed.
Manage a senior engineering team to deliver high-availability, enterprise-scale software solutions.
Oversee technical governance for coding decisions, cost of ownership, and maintainability across portfolios.
Drive the integration of AI-native systems into the core development lifecycle and production environments.
Manage the transition of multiple applications to various business partners.
Influence senior stakeholders and peer leaders to align technology goals with business objectives.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
10+ years of applied experience in software engineering.
5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within a domain of expertise.
Experience developing and leading cross-functional teams of technologists including hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
Hands-on experience building AI-native production systems and leading the adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices.
Demonstrated experience building and operating enterprise-scale platforms with high availability requirements and practical cloud native experience.
Experience in financial services or regulated environments; familiarity with Omnissa or large-scale UEM platforms (preferred).
