Director, Global Hearing Protection and Protective Communication R&D

What you'll do

• Set and execute the technical vision and R&D strategy for hearing protection and communication products.
• Lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams of product development and test engineers across global locations.
• Oversee the execution of NPI programs, regulatory certification projects, and cost/productivity initiatives.
• Manage third-party accredited laboratories to ensure compliance with global safety standards and requirements.
• Manage laboratory budgets, resource planning, capital investments, and R&D vendor relationships.
• Improve lab efficiency and throughput using Lean methodologies and digital tools like PowerApps and AI.
• Guide the development of proprietary solutions and manage patent filings in partnership with legal teams.
• Serve as a technical mentor to identify industry trends and innovation opportunities across the business.

What we're looking for

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science or Engineering.
• Requires product development leadership experience in private, public, government, or military environments.
• Requires supervisory or management experience.
• Preferred background in acoustics and acoustical measurement techniques.
• Preferred knowledge of hearing conservation methods and global hearing protection regulatory standards.
• Preferred expertise in mechanical design, materials science, and electronic product development.
• Preferred experience in large-scale laboratory management and commercializing government-regulated products.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by export control laws to access certain technologies and systems.
